One night some of the littluns were crying in their sleep. We asked them why they were they crying. One of them told us because of the beastie. Beastie? We asked them to explain exactally who was the beastie. They told use that he was a very large moster that lived in the ocean. They sounded very frightened, but I didn't believe it one bit.

There's this littlun named Persival. He's also afraid of the beastie as well as the other littluns. I'm was starting to hate the littluns and how they think that there's so beastie. Therefore, I hate Persival.

Later on, Ralph announced of an assemble like usual. This on was different, I actually liked this one. There were many reasons why I was called for. First of it was called because of the beastie that the littluns made up. which this was one of the most important ones. Second was because the littluns were not obeying the rules and using the bathroom next to the trees instead of the beach. The last concerns were the signal fire, drinking water, and the routine on where to sleep. Many people were braking the rules and even I was concern about it.

I agree with the other big ones there is no such thing as the beastie, I'll prove it too. First of I have been everywhere on this island and I have never seen the beastie. Second of all none of the other bigones have seen it either. I announced my reason why I think that the beastie isn't real that in the assembly Shocknley the littluns clapped for my speech and agreed with me. So I truly don't believe in the beastie and I think it's a figure of the littuns imagination.

I'm starting to dislike Ralph a like. Initially, I liked him but now he's really getting annoying. The reason why is because he's always calling for assemblies and that stupid conch rule that he made was ridiculous. He make to many useless rules too. Honestly, if I was the chief this group would be much better. First of we would get rid of the littluns and Piggy. We would have plenty of food to eat, especially pigs. Anyways everyone likes me more. Actually I should start an other tribe.

The worst thing in human nature is laziness, like Piggy. It's very irritating when have someone that is pure lazy.

I'm having trouble with manual labor. For examples, helping building shelters and finding wood. Everyone is getting frustrated especially Jack (well he's always made at me). I understand why the boys are made at me. I not tyring to do it intentionally though. I mean I try really hard to help out. It's really hard to find wood because there's a lot of walking on this island and I get really exhausted and dehydrated, plus I have asthma. That's why I don't help much. It's probably the the number one situation that I have, but I hope that this could get better.

In my opinion, I think that the littluns are okay. They never bother anyone and they're kind of in the background. Unsatisfying, they don't really put that much effort in to helping out. That is my only concern. For example, daily they just play and eat and never do any manual labor. I know that are just kids, but they need to pitch in a little.

One day Jack and his hunters went of to go hunting. The went hunting for a pig. This time they didn't fail on getting a pig. Which I was a little glade. When they came back they had their faces all painted with white, red, and green. They were also caring spears. Which they were just some sharpened sticks. I wasn't too happy because something else really disappointed happened.

Once not too long ago we saw a ship passing by. It was the same day when Jack was hunting with his hunters. Unfortunately, the ship didn't see us.The reason why was because we didn't had the signal fire lit. If we had our signal fire lit possibly the ship would of saw us. The reason why we didn't had the fire lit was because jack and his hunters went to go hunting. Therefore, they weren't taking care of the fire as usual, there was a little bit of fire and it was out. I truly blame Jack his hunters with this situation. We could of been rescued, but we didn't because of them. Jack apologised, but I think that he didn't really meant it at all. Now we are going to be stranded here for possible until we die.

My name is Simon and I'm 11 years old. I went to a English charter school. I'm also one of the biguns. I have black hair and I'm fared skin. Many people tell me that I'm a very thoughtful and kind person, and I fully agree. I'm also a very religious person for my age. I'm always meditating and it really works. In my opinion, I think that I'm the nicest one on this island.

In my opinion I think that it's important to have shelters for the littleuns. The reason why is because I feel that it's better to treat everyone equal. Even the littuns... actually especially the littuns. I mean, just not too many years ago they were toddlers. They are much more sensitive than us and we should give them more care. For instance, that littlun with with the mulberry birth mark got lost and we never found him again. That shows that they need more supervision and care.

Not long ago I was super thirsty( I felt that I was about to die) and and I really needed something to drink. My lips were chap and my mouth was dry as sand. I also felt like I was about to faint ( for the 3rd time). I didn't though, luckily I found this one lake and I drank some water. It felt great to drink that water, it was cold as ice and the water was very clean. My mouth and lips were finally back to normal. Also very fortunately I didn't want to faint. So, in my opinion I think that water is the most important part in survival. Without water, (even for a day) we will not be able to live. Daily, I drink about 4-5 coconut bowls of water.

I'm a very positive individual. I think that we would be saved on this island very soon. The reason why I think that is because we have the signal fire and the fire is a great way to call for rescue. Also positive things happen to positive people, like me.

There is thins one particular place on the island that I really like. Also it's my hiding place too. This place is just gorgeous. The sun really hits it, there's grass and creepers everywhere, and there's flowers scattered all over the place like carpet. My favorite part of this secret place is the hiding place. It's under a bunch of creepers, there's a secret door, and it covers this big hole. I really love the secret hiding place, but I hope no one would find it.

Hello, my name is Ralph . In my opinion I think that this island is horrible. It is the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I hope and think that someone would find us though. The reason why is because my father is in the army and he will sent someone to find us quickly. I fell that we are going to stay here forever and it's scary. I need to stay calm though. The beastie is a monster that the littluns saw, supposedly. I don't believe in the beastie, though. There's no such thing as mosters and I haven't seen this beastie yet, therefore I don't believe in it. My plan to be rescued was to make a very large signal fire on top of a mountain. We used Piggy's glasses to start the signal fire. Occasionally, he didn't want to give up his glasses, but we later on we forced him to give them to us. Later on the fire got bigger and out of hand. Therefore, we lost one of the littluns... I think it was the one with the mulberry birth mark. Also ever since that night, we never saw him again. Some people theorised that he got burned alive in the fire. The choir ( also known as the hunters) are in charge of keeping the signal fire lit. In my opinion I think that a signal fire is an excellent way for a rescue signal. The reason why is because it's a very large signal and anyone can see even from far distance. Unfortunately, this signal fire can easily get out of hand. For example, it could burn the whole island or it could kill burn someone. Therefore,

we have to be very caution about it.

I think that I'm more different from the other boys on this island. One of the reason why is because I have more leadership skills than anyone here, even Jack. For instance, I'm organized, I come up with fair rules, I'm mentally strong, physically strong, and I'm thoughtful of others. I try to keep these boys as organized as possible. For example, there are different groups like the hunters. I'm thoughtful because I'm trying to treat everyone as equal as possible. I'm mentally strong because I have never cried, fainted, or had a panic attack. I'm probably the most calm and relaxed on this island even though I have a lot of responsibilities. No one can be better than

me in leadership and I hope that I will keep doing a good job.

The thoughts that go through my head every night is wondering whether we would be saved, how long would it that to be saved, if I'm going to live as long to be a survivor, and ( my least concern) what are we going to eat. Sometimes I'm concern about dieing here or not. The reason why is because this island can be dangerous and think someone died in the fire. So that really scares me. About my least concern, Sometimes I wondering whether we are going to eat a pig or fruit ( which don't really full me up). We had a chance to eat pig once, but unfortunately Jack hesitated on killing it and he let it go free. I mostly think positive, though. I'm very proud on how much progress we have made. For example, the amount of shelters we have made, it;s quicker for us to make a fire, and how much food we collect. I'm also thinking about what other rules I should make and if their fair enough. Like I said I mostly think about positive thinks which that makes me into a good leader too.

1. Describe the setting of the Island.

This island is very humid. This island is very isolated there is around here except for a very small island. There are creepers everywhere. There is a enormous scar from our plane that crashed on the center of the island. Also on the center of the island, there are tree's and grass. There is sand on the outer part of the island. The only animals here are wild pigs. The water is crystal blue and the waves are very low. All we can hear are birds, the waves crashing, and the breeze coming.

2. What is the major event that brought you to this island?

The reason why we are on this island is because our plane was shot be a German war plane.

3. Introduce yourself and explain your relationship to the other characters (of interest) who have been introduced so far.

My name is Jack, I am 12 years old and I'm one of the big ones on this island.I'm am the leader of the choir at my church. I go to a charter school in England. I'm also a bully at my school, but adults thing that I'm a good kid. All the boys in this island seem okay so far. Like Ralph, he is the chief of boys on this island and I truly respect him and admire him. The reason why is because he has a good sense of leadership. Roger is part of the big ones. He's dark haired and has fair skin, he's probably 11 years old. He doesn't talk much, but he seems okay. There's the littluns which they seem a little annoying to me. And there's Piggy, he's fat, annoying, and stupid. The reason why he's annoying is because he's always whining, nagging, and he never agrees with anyone.

4. Why are there no adults on this island?

Well first my school was going to a field trip to another country with our teachers. Since our plane violently crashed on this island a lot of people didn't survived and some included all of the adults. Therefore there is only school boys on this island. I don't mind though.

5. What powers does a person holding the conch have? How do you feel about the conch?

When someone has the conch in his hands, it means he is the only one that has permission to talk. In my opinion I think that the conch and the rules about it is ridiculous. Why do we need to have permission to talk. It will make it much more easier without the conch. I respect Ralph, but that rule that he made idiotic.

6. What is the choir’s job? How do you feel about the boys in the choir?

I'm part of the choir and our role is to hunt food for everyone else and keep the signal fire lit. We have not started the signal fire yet though. I like the other people in the choir. I also think that we have the most important job on this island.

7. Why do you feel you should be elected chief?

I think I should of been elected as chief because I feel that I'm a little better than Ralph when it comes to leadership. The reason why is because I have more experience in leaded a group. I also think that my rules would be better, but like I said I respect Ralph and his desitions and I think he would still make a good leader.

Chapter 8: Gift for the Darkness

In chapter 8, I think that the time when Jack and Roger killed a pig was one of the most terrifying, but intresting parts of the book. In my opionthink that part was the most brutal part because, the author explainedhe pig's death with a lot of detail and what Jack and Roger was saying was evil.For example, Roger was sticking his spear up the pig's butt and yelling '' Right up her ass," while Jack was decapitatingthe pig's head. Later on, Jack opens up the pig's stomache,
then pullsouther guts and put's the pig's head on a stick with the guts all around the grass.

I think what chapter 8 is explaining is that for the first time the boys are going crazy on the island and some of them are showing their true colors. A part where the boys are going crazy is when Jack and Roger and the the other boys were brutaly killing a pig and sticking its head on a stick. Another part where someone was going crazy for the first time was when Simon was halusanating and talking to the pig's head, which Jack, Roger, and the other older boys killed.
I think that in this chapter for the firat time I am seeing Roger's and Jack's real colors.
